Youth Judo at Restigouche Dojo builds a complete base in grappling arts for ages 7 and up. Students learn safe falling, core throws, and positional control on the ground (tachi-waza & ne-waza), with age-appropriate elements from Judo, BJJ, and Wrestling to improve balance, coordination, problem-solving, and respect.

Fundamental throws, hold-downs, and transitions to ground control (osaekomi).
Discipline, respect, teamwork, and perseverance — on and off the mats.
Standing (Tachi-waza): stance, grips, kuzushi, entries to core throws (e.g., Osoto Gari, O Goshi, Seoi Nage variations).
Ground (Ne-waza): pins/hold-downs (osaekomi), escapes, transitions, and positional awareness.
Randori Culture: playful, progressive resistance to apply skills safely and learn decision-making.
Etiquette: dojo manners, bowing, and partner-first mindset that keeps training safe and fun.
